The chefs bring your food in. As you all eat, you suggest to Inzo that uniting other nations might be the real key to victory. Or waging an economic war, rather than a military one.

"Economic war? Inzo not care for boom market, only big booms. Unite nations under gob boot!"

"Like..." Valley shakes her head. "You don't even wear boots? You guys are all totally barefoot. How are we gonna track down a puppeteer?"

"Maybe one has used their puppetry to entertain others," Justice suggests. "The entertainers guild may know where we can find a puppeteer."

"Of course," Lagrand replies, "that does put us back to square one: how will we make our way into the entertainers guild?"

Displays of magical power? Some combination of wind wand and ribbon dancing? Ranse's chem thrower for pyro?

"I don't know," Valley reasons, "that sounds pretty lame."

Ranse breathes out hard through her nose. "W... we would. Just embarrass ourselves if we tried to i-improvise a routine. We... could, practice something, but it feels like a w-wasteoftime."

"Friends with thief guild, yeah?," Inzo asks. "Just break in! Or steal card."

"Th-that's... not a bad idea," Ranse states. "If you, could find someone who's good at... break ins. Or pickpocketing. Could just. Hire them. Need to... schmooze withthethieves. Anyway." She pauses, but adds with a bit of a grumble, "Learn what's goingonwithdisguisepotions."

Justice points out, "I believe it was said the guildmaster was paying out for disguise potions and their materials. No one seems to know why, though. Perhaps we should speak with the guildmaster personally?"

"I do wonder if it's that easy," Lagrand replies.

"Big, important master of guild," adds Inzo, "not have time for little peoples."

Valley shrugs, speaking with a mouthful of chocolate cake. "It might be worth a shot? Like... nobody else had any answers. Guild guy's gotta have SOME reason."

"W..." Ranse takes a breath. "We'rerunninglow. One... disguise potion left. So. We need to... figure out. Something."

"The pink haired woman mentioned a ring, as well," pitches Justice. "A ring of disguise. That could offer a more permanent solution, if we wish to seek it out."

"If we do manage to find an audience with the head of the thieves guild..." Lagrand begins, "We may consider inquiring about our ultimate target, as well. Surely, a thieves guild would have some opinion regarding all these underwear thefts."

"Iwouldn't," Ranse blurts out. "N-Nast is... apairofnicetits and a dye job away from lookinglikethethief. A-and the posters around town, aren't in color. So. If the guildmaster... th-thinks you're the thief it might mean trouble. I... w-wouldn't, bring his attention to it."

You also bring up what else needs to be bought, or done, while here in Threeroads.

"Mythril pinses is 75g," says Inzo. "Would be worth it, Inzo guarantees."

Valley swallows another mouthful of cake. "I still need to go..." She stops, fighting back a giggle, "get some like... traditional war piercing done. You should maybe probably leave me out of the party for that one? Like, I don't need you guys around for THAT."

So that's 250 gp - 75, we still have 175 gp for purchases, room and board.

Valley wants to go do her own thing for a bit, so we need to cycle someone in to take her slot. I vote Inzo, for now; we need a heavy hitter, and his mech is the only thing we've encountered that could stand up to Valley in a direct contest of strength.
Maybe cycle out Justice for Ranse; if we're taking Inzo around for his technological expertise, we can use Ranse for her alchemical knowhow.

So we shouldn't talk to the guildmaster, because of security concerns. We might want to avoid the thieves' guild completely, in fact. At least unless we've managed to get into the entertainers and go to collect Sweet.

Maybe when we go shopping, we should keep an eye out for stores that sell parts that could be used in golem-building. If we can get the shopkeepers to talk, they might give us a solid clue to finding a puppeteer. Having Ranse and Inzo there would give us an excuse to be looking.

Beg pardon, that's 215 - 75 = 140 gp. Don't the money just fly...

And I misread. (Blame the late hour.)
If/when we talk to the guildmaster about the disguise potions, we should be EXTREMELY cautious... We can't let slip anything that potentially connects us to the panty thief.

So, maybe cycle in Inzo and Ranse for the shopping and hunting for clues as to finding a puppeteer, but for meeting the guildmaster, cycle in Lagrand and Justice. They're a bit more... subtle than some of our other comrades.

If asked what we want the potions for, we can imply it's a sex thing. With our group, that would not be too unbelievable.

+1 Gallstone and guest. Except. Justice is not subtle, she is straightforward, naive and direct. Law-abiding. Idealistic. Sure we want to take her? The status martyr effect is interesting if we`re in a trap though.

I prefer Ranse, she has different powers of identification.

Take Justice and Ranse.

Ranse's ability to ID magic could be useful if we keep her around Justice for awhile. Let her get a 'nose' for it, and then she can compare it to other clerics.

I'm reasonably sure witches and warlocks all 'smell' and 'taste' different from each other. If all the cleric magic is the same we might be able to start forming a hypothesis as to the reality of this goddess.

We stand a better chance of buying entry to the entertainers' guild than performing our way in.

Getting mixed up with the thieves' guild is only going to make things worse for us, Nast is a fugitive already.

Yeah, navigating the thieves' guild is a minefield. But we've nowhere else to find out what the business with the disguise potions is; who's paying the bill and where they're all being sent.

I agree with limiting our interactions with the thievesguild as much as possible.
We're on a quest to proof our innocence, becoming a careercriminal in the process should be avoided.
Obviously there's some things for which the help of the guild is necessary but other than that we should not rely on them.

We can get in the entertainers guild perfectly legal, we only need a showact.
It must not be a perfect act, only good enough that we don't embarass ourselves (unless that's what we want, slapstickcomedy).

My suggestion for the act is performing a song.

Or we just need to get in good with someone who's already a member, and persuade them to give us an introduction.

It seems like to proceed in any of these quest, we need to make some money. After we rest for the night maybe we should go out and search around the woods for random encounters. If we get lucky we may even get the ring Mel talked about.

Valley off to pierce `em.

Lagrand is used to meditating for hours while disguised as local flora. May as well do it outside the enchanters guild.

Justice could help the less fortunate, "help the poor, heal the sick and injured". She may even learn something worthwhile or meet someone of importance.

I suppose letting them do their background stuff isn`t violating the three in the party limit.

We could go with Justice to help people, with the idea of getting friends in the community. Never know when that would pay off.

It's probably a good idea to ask where the roads north and west go. Even of we don't head that way for a while, it'll open more options.

I'm sure we'll need to find somewhere to sleep tonight,
I say we see if we can get inspired by justice, if she's up for it, she might prefer us in female form as she said she had sex with the other girls at the cathedral.

Also, we seriously need to talk to inzo about his world domination plans aha! But it appears to have calmed down for now.
It seems there are some tensions between certain members we should be wary of.
->Inzo and basically anyone, but particularly justice.
->Ranse thinks Lagrand's magic is unnatural, though they've been OK together, maybe that's something to work on? To strengthen the group?
->Lagrand doesn't like magists... Although luckily we don't have any of them in the party, but something to keep in mind.

We also don't seem to be making too much headway anywhere! Lots of quests, not so much progress and it seems like this world is similar to ours in it's fixation on money! Someone else commented about going into the woods, might be an easier way to make money than in the town, especially if we want to avoid being recognised.

+1 to this. The woods have many things, and right now money isnt the only thing we need. We need some good ol practice/training.

There is good possibility having ranse with us will provide alchemical parts/plants etc we can sell.

Plus get some practice/ inspiration for offensive/defensive spells. ranse needs practice, we need to see what sweet can do, healers can hurt things too, remember too much of a good thing gets lethal quick! This considered... still should keep a heavy in the party so inzo, nast and one member we want to train.
