Morgenstern
You ask if maybe the other team wants to join forces--you're in hot pursuit of the notorious panty thief, and you'll no doubt encounter a number of rare monsters along the way.

"Nah, I gave up on the thrill o' the hunt a long time ago," says the thief. "I'm in it for the money. Now, you guys could hire us, if ya wanted..." The thief smiles. "But we ain't cheap."

You ask if the thief would at least be interested in... consummating the truce between your parties.

The thief grins wider. "You're pretty cute, ya know that? I ain't gonna ride your dick on some musty ranch, though. Don't let the pointy ears fool ya, I'm not into that 'gettin' back to nature' biz."

The thief approaches you on her way back to the rest of her party. With one hand, she holds out a small card--and with the other, she rather boldly grabs your cock through your pants. With that grin reaching its peak, she brushes her mouth against yours. "Ask for Mel when ya get to the Thieves Guild in Threeroads. This card'll get ya in."

Mel rejoins the orc and the summoner.

You ask, on a whim, if any of them have heard anything about the stealing of disguise potions and materials. Maybe the thief knows some thieves.

"Oh, yeah," Mel says with a chuckle. She exchanges a glance with the orc. "That's pretty much all of us right now. The thieves guild's been throwin' out dosh for disguise potions, and all the supplies for makin' 'em... buyin' 'em up at big prices. Any thief with a brain's been hittin' up caravans, breakin' into shops, the works. No idea what the guild wants 'em for, but... y'know, it's disguise potions. Prob'ly ain't hard to figure out. Whatever it is, they're stockin' up."

You tell the summoner about the location of the King Slime, south of Humblestart. If she wants to learn a new monster, that... is definitely a different one.

"Oh... thank you," the summoner replies. "I'll be sure to check it out!"

And lastly, you ask if the summoner could come with you to talk to the rancher, and confirm that she won't be trying to break in and 'become enlightened' by the chickens anymore. The summoner agrees, and you take her to the rancher.

After explaining the entire situation--much to the summoner's chagrin--the rancher nods knowingly.

"Yeah, sounds about right t'me. So, didja want that discount, then? 50g a chicken instead o' 75? Or didja wanna work somethin' else out?"

Since the cockadoos lay eggs regularly it should suffice buying only one and then hatching as much as we want.

Our next goal should be Threeroads and looking for that Entertainers Guild so that we can finally take care of the goblinbusiness.
Afterwards we can back to the SlimeCave and celebrate.

And don't forget about the mithril while we're there. And maybe the thieves guild has some information about the panty thief. (They'd need permission from the guild to operate, right? If they don't have permission, they might be willing to help us find this rogue thief. [See what I did there? lol])

I think that can wait until after we finally finish the goblinquest.
We don't need mythril to fuck the tribe, but we want it out of the way.
Mythril and panties are still there after all that.
It is about to time to finish some quests before our questlog gets longer and longer and longer.

We can also ask the minitaurs here if they are willing to help with the goblins.
Guest 18th May 2018, 10:48 PM edit delete reply
Don't bother the minitaurs. We already have a place to get a goblin whore.

i don't think we really need a giant chicken right now, we seem to do fine on our own. we could see if that discount is good for future dealings or if it's a one-time deal. regarding getting one and hatching more, we don't really have the means to rear baby chickens and it'd be a pain to train them. we can always come back and get them later when we need them. we can just take an IOU for now.
Guest 18th May 2018, 10:49 PM edit delete reply
As much as I sincerely love the giant chickens, I must agree. Maybe get them for transport later, when we have more money to spend.

Ask Rancher if he has equipment to pierce Valley's nipples so she can act as support.
Szled 18th May 2018, 2:00 PM edit delete reply
The pircing is not for that, Valley has to stuff her face to become a support, like nonstop...

i'm struggling to figure out where you got the idea that nipple piercings have anything to do with lactation rofl

that happens naturally, you don't have to like... poke a hole in the titty to get the milk out. it's not a freakin' capri sun or something.
Nieki 18th May 2018, 2:38 PM edit delete reply
Congrats, you made me totally lose it. a capri sun of all things.

As to what we should do... What DOES it take to rear chickens? Do they pop out, of eggs, like, fully formed? Remember, a wizard is involved, and they are giant magical chickens as it is. If we wanted to get enough chickens for our whole party, it'd be 150 G--One for valley, one for two of either ourselves, Lagrande, or Ranse (And doubling up during a ride might be fun), and one for whoever isn't riding double. Enzo could likely engineer a way to keep up.

That would cost, with the discount, 150 G--not at all cheap, and it'd leave us with 90 G. On the other hand, we're starting to get to the point where travel time is a serious Thing--it took us until nightfall to get here.

We might also be able to outright sell the eggs, depending, or give them to Ranse, or use them as delicious delicious food. In that regard, it's kind of an investment.

I actually think we should spring for at least one Chicken--not only would they be good for a ride (if not the kind of ride the Summoner thought) but they might be a valuable source of income. We might also find other uses for them! I do kinda wanna safe some dosh for a second Tent, though.

Yeah, and it is kinda amusing that I made a comment on the oage before we saw the bird mounts, I literally said "He surely means Chocobos or oversized chickens or something" some oart of me wants to belive that Morgen saw my comment and went "You know what? Fuck it, Oversized chickens it is!"

Suggest we rest up for the rest of the night, then move on to the city in the morning.

We still have to pass that shrine and see what the witches/clerics there are doing.

After that, we can probably find someone in the city to uh, 'accommodate' the goblins. Or we can find the equipment needed to make the goblins an animated sex doll.

Anyway, we need to find out why the thieves' guild is stocking up on disguise potions. Unless the panty thief is paying them an absolute fortune (which suggests bad things), there's even more brewing than we knew.
Nieki 18th May 2018, 4:31 PM edit delete reply
Hmm. Yeah, I can agree with part of this--whether we pick up a Cockadoo (or several) or not, there isn't gonna be any problem with sleeping for the night on the choice.
Krylo 18th May 2018, 9:12 PM edit delete reply
I vote against buying any chickens unless it's to dip them in 11 herbs and spices and deep fry them.

We need a whole bunch of them for the party, which means dealing with 3 or more giant chickens, and every time we get new recruits we'll need MORE chickens, and pets are a lot of responsibility.

Plus we're going to have to stable them at towns, and try to avoid letting them get eaten by monsters when we have to explore caves, and stuff.

Honestly mounts are just more trouble than they're worth.

I agree we could use a method of moving quickly, but I think we should skip chickens (at least until we hear legends of how we can breed the mythical golden chicken, or find chicken racing tracks), and instead just get Inzo and Ranse supplies to work together on some kind of troop transport or airship or something.
