You start to search the room for a hidden switch. You run your fingers across any weird looking divots or suspicious cracks, you check around the door frames, and you investigate the picture frames on the walls.

It looks as though whatever paintings were in these heavy frames have been ripped out, possibly stolen by looters. You do find a faded inscription on the frames themselves, though, giving the names of the paintings--one is "Constellation of the Archmage," and the other is "The Archmage Shows His Power."

After a great deal of searching, and failing to find much else, you try knocking on the locked door.

Nothing happens.

You cast Reinforce on the room's main pillar... and Deinforce on the stone door. Valley and Inzo take turns swinging at it, dust tumbling from the ceiling as they beat on the slab.

It does slowly, steadily give way, cracks forming in its surface. It's dense, though, and even after the Deinforce the door is extremely tough. Valley starts to wear herself out swinging at the door, and the knuckles on Inzo's mech start to show the wear. You think they COULD beat their way in, but it would take a while.

Ask Inzo if he could construct a wedge to hammer into the cracks in the door.

Well, knocking didn't work. Have Inzo chuck gob juice at the door until its open, like Lexax suggested.

Check the drain in the other room. It might lead past the door and to a switch. The spider said they keep big spiders out, not everything.

We also have a stamina potion we could give to Valley while Inzo works on that wedge?

+1 on the Stamina potion although we could also put that to more...inspirational uses. Perhaps we could go back and ask the Spider if he happens to know a way in or whats behind the drain? We can always take a closer look but dividing the party is never really advised.

i'm gonna just... go ahead and suggest we not destroy the only defense the fairies have against the giant spider in the next room? i don't think we need an extinction event on our conscience. there has to be another way in. go back to the hole in the last room and crawl through. nast can fit just fine. suggest maybe lagrand join in for back-up if needed.
