Scare off the goblins

The slime that brought you here did seem to be asking for your help... even though that's way better communication skills than slimes are normally known for.

While the goblins are distracted with the other slimes, you try casting Reinforce on the slime that brought you here. You touch it, expending a bit of energy...

but nothing happens.

They're barely smarter than rocks, but sadly, slimes don't qualify as objects and items.

You signal to Valley to start terrifying the goblins. She pulls out her club and begins to slam it on the floor, shouting at the goblins and otherwise acting scary.

Meanwhile, you sink slow to the ground, darting around from an angle. As you pass by the goblins, you drag your fingertips across the bottles at their hips... casting Reinforce on their exploding projectiles.

After the initial shock wears off, the goblins start attempting to lob their bottles at Valley (since they absolutely do not want to get into melee with that). ...And, sure enough, the bottles just bounce off of her, hitting the floor with an uneventful thud.

Realizing that they can't play the range game--and there's no way they can win a fight against the minitaur with their tiny knives--the goblins start screeching at each other.

Valley one-hands her club, hoisting it over her shoulder, and giving a "c'mere" sort of motion with her free hand.

The goblins stop... and stare at her... and then at each other... and then at the slimes... and then at Valley.

The goblins stumble over each other in a hurry to get out of the cave.


You feel a little tired, but you and Valley cleared the room of goblins. The slimes wiggle... approvingly? In gratitude? You might just be trying to read too much into slime jiggling.

You can still hear some commotion from further inside, however.

gather up the bottles, if the gerblins didn't stop to do so. then head further into the cave and see what the commotion is.

I second this! While the reinforced bottles might be too difficult for the goblins to break, our dear companion wouldn't find it too difficult to break them with her strength.

Did we buy any potions in the shop? If yes then maybe use some to refresh us. Otherwise deeper into the cave to help our slimefriends.

Maybe be a bit cautious while checking out the commotion, could be dangerous.
