Valley pulls out the broken zweihander, and the stone shield she acquired earlier. "So, like... we're here to try and fix these? Or something? We're totes not bad guys, we just--"

One of the golems points a craggy... hand? Appendage? ...And fires off a decently sized rock at a very high speed. Valley barely manages to tip the heavy shield sideways quickly enough to block the attack.

"We did try," Justice points out.

"That we did," Lagrand agrees.

Valley stows the zwei and shield... and retrieves the anchor.

She hurls her anchor to hook the farthest golem, and Lagrand steps forward, attempting to bramble-grab the nearer.

Both golems sort of... shove their feet into the ground, the earth tightening around their base. They root themselves in, and even Valley--with her immense strength--can't quite manage to pull one of the creatures free.

"My," Lagrand remarks, grunting as he grabs at his brambled arm with his free one, trying to muscle his golem loose, "isn't that a quaint trick."

The golems, in turn, begin trying to reel Lagrand and Valley in. Valley can't quite get her golem pulled toward her... but at the same time, the golem is not itself strong enough to pull Valley. She digs her heel in, and the two play a matched game of tug o' war, neither able to pull the other any closer. ...Valley eventually switches to gripping the chain with one hand, as it doesn't seem to make a difference either way.

Lagrand, on the other hand, lacks the physical strength to match his paired foe. Inch by inch, the golem grabs a handful of brambles, dragging Lagrand closer; however, the reeling action is slow. Lagrand answers by... growing more brambles, pushing them out of his arm faster than the golem can pull. Again, the two come to a stand still.

Justice holds back the smallest sigh... and signals for her elemental to go. It rushes its round body across the battlefield, ducking below Valley's chain and maneuvering carefully past Lagrand's brambles, before hustling up to the golem Valley has hooked.

It points a chubby arm... and starts blasting, firing high pressure water in a furious stream. The golem, having committed to standing its ground, has no real way to dodge--though, as bulky and awkward as its body is in the first place, dodging may have never been an option. The stone pile answers by pointing its own hand, and firing a shrapnel burst of sharp pebbles and stray stones. It takes a chunk of water out of Justice's elemental... but the holes quickly fill, and the elemental resumes blasting. Meanwhile, the rock golem is forced to suck dirt and smaller rocks up from the ground to 'reload' itself, all while being chipped away at by a blitzkrieg of holy water.

Lagrand, having long given up on trying to overpower these things, starts to coil and wind his brambles between the individual stones--and as his thorny vines begin to encircle the redder looking stone, buried deep between the cracks, the golem starts to visibly squirm.

"Oh," he remarks casually. "Is that it, then?" The brambles tighten, and the stone golem gives up any attempt to reel Lagrand in--instead beginning to frantically break the brambles apart, trying to cut them off from its small body.

"The red section is some manner of core!," Lagrand tells Valley and Justice. "'Tis softer, and appears to be a weak point."

The golem breaks itself free, brambles still half hanging out of it, but no longer squeezing aggressively at its center. It unlinks itself from the ground and begins to stomp forward, going on the offensive, approaching Lagrand with hand-like limbs floating in front of it.

Justice makes a motion, and her elemental starts aiming its stream for the core, specifically--but the farther golem brings its appendages up, as well, doing its best to block the rush of water. The power of the jet is still enough to start breaking away at the golem's meager defense, but it's enough to stave off its demise for the moment. Meanwhile, that golem maintains its position partway wedged in the earth, refusing to budge to Valley's still-hooked anchor.

Could Valley earthbreak while in the tug of war? If so, she should do so. The golem will be unable to doge it and its footing will be loosened.

Me likes the sound if that.

What of Lagrand? Others below have suggested using his spears, but these things seem persistent despite their slow movement. He’d need to hit the core.

So if Valley is going to stomp the one she has caught, I think Baby Blue should swap targets, help the squishy witch with his target by dividing its attention.

-1 to earthbreaker. They can attract and manipulate earth and stone to heal themselves; covering them in the stuff might not be wise.

Yeah -1 to Earthbreaker if you ask me. It would probably hit, but I suspect they have Earth Absorb(ency) so it wouldn't help.

Valley should pull herself in as fast as she can and Kick the golem.

Have Lagrand use his wood needle attack on the core of the one approaching.

If it comes in melee range, have Justice whack it with her hammer, keeping its attention while Little Blue turns and blasts its core; Lagrand then switches targets, peppering Little Blue's target with needles.

The mining sledge was built for breaking rocks. Valley should grab Justice with her free hand and, instead of trying to pull the gomem in, pull the two of them quickly toward it with Justice ready to swing when they get in range. If they time it right, the momentum of being rapidly pulled together should make the attack fairly devastating.

Lagrand can keep making new brambles and setting them toward the core of the one he's on, meanwhile, Justice should move up and help her elemental, applying sledge to stone.

Valley, as well, should start reeling herself in toward the little bundle of rocks and help lay on some offense.

Once Valley's is defeated, the party can switch over to Lagrand's.

It says they are not real elementals and confirms that the red core is their weak point.
When Lagrand can hit precise enough an attack with Treant Needle should help.
I'm not sure if Earthbreaker would destroy or rather help rebuild it.
While a direct hit with the Hammer Of Justíce would most likely destroy the core it seems a great risk going near enough for Justice to do it.

Little blue should focus on lagrand’s golem, as Valley will be in a stalemate until she uses earthbreaker (+1 to whoever said that, by the way). We should try to have LB change shape to try and flow in between the golem’s rocks, surround the core and reform around it, push the rocks out of the way.

Justice needs to stay back, her ranged weapon is little blue. Legrand and little blue need to focus on the nearer one. Digging at the center stone. Valley needs to earth stop the other one then while its distracted, nail it with the anchor. If needed, she can dive under, come up inside it and grab the red heart.

I'd say to keep Justice out of the fray.

Lagrand should keep threatening with his brambles, trying to force it to redirect its defense while sniping for the core with Treant Needles. Valley should keep hers pinned down with the anchor while Blue fires directly into the core, and once that's down, moves to help Lagrand.

Try to salvage what you can from these things. Their components, especially the cores, may have alchemic or mech utility.

Honestly, this might be a place to bring Inzo at some point. He might pick up mech ideas.

Why keep justice out of the fray? She has a weapon specifically designed for breaking what these things are made out of, is equipped with a shield, and Valley's can't even move or mount a defense/offense against her.

There's very little to risk and quite a bit to gain by having her smack something around a bit.

+1 to Krylo's plan. Let Justice use her rock hammer on the red core of Valley's golem. and have Valley Earth Stomp her golem.

Hmmm, alright then. Blue would need to backup Lagrand instead.

On an unrelated note, plants generally need some measure of water to germinate properly. What might happen if Lagrand uses holy water for that?

Yeah, have justice go for the core of one, while LB goes for the other. Valley and Lagrand just try and keep them pinned.

+1 to letting Justice attack with her hammer.

Also, have everyone just focus one of these golems, which one I hardly think matters, but maybe the one that's wrestling with Lagrand's brambles, because with Little Blue closer it'll get flanked, or even surrounded, very quickly, and then it can't block all angles at once. The one Valley hooked is still stuck so they can turn towards it after finishing off the closer one.

See, now if one of the fairies had come with us, we could have learned about that weak spot right away. :P

I agree that Valley using her Earthbreaker attack might only end up giving the rock golems more ammo or maybe even partially reconstruct themselves, but what if she did the attack directly *on* the golems, basically turning *them* into the debris for the attack? I'm not sure of the mechanics of it so I'm not sure if it would work or not.

When you put it that way, I suspect Valley can stomp on them without specifically using Earthbreaker anyway. If it's just a matter of putting enough strength into it...

The problem is that for the stomp Valley needs to approach her golem, and abandon the tug-of-war to do so.

Valley and Lagrand has them stalemate. Well done!

Rest of the party overwhelm the one tugging Valley, Justice with pickaxe, little blue slides beneath it to stop regen from ground, Valley reels herself in if necessary, Lagrand may even spear it if he gets the opening.

After that, the other one: Valley and Lagrand could experiment, first see if it can hold tugging against both of them, then tugging from opposite directions. Justice finish it.

Careful about possible shrapnel from the golems when they are destructed. Shields are great.
