Valley picks up the stone tallshield from the same statue she took the zwei from. Though she's not proficient in shields herself, it may still come in handy later.

Valley, Lagrand, and Justice head further into the building, past the broken statue of Neid and upstairs to speak with the fairies.

"Oh! Is that a NEW form?," asks one fairy.

"It looks WAY different than last time!"

A handful of fairies come fluttering up to Justice, who gives a shy, confused smile.

"They must believe you are Nast under the effects of yet another potion," Lagrand speculates with half a grin. "The last time we were here, it was the three of us and Inzo."

"Oh!," Justice replies, smiling wider. "No, um... I don't believe we've met. My name is Justice."

"We seek an old stonemason's workshop," Lagrand states. "We have our suspicions that it lies in these very woods... and thought you all may know of its whereabouts."

"Plus, we never got your sizes and junk?," Valley adds. "Like... y'know, for panties."

The fairies all take a moment to discuss it among themselves, some tiny banter making its way back and forth. Eventually, a couple of fairies drift back up to the party.

"Okay, so! We thiiink we might've seen what you're talking about?"



"There's an old stone spooky place offfff..."

The fairies hover to the edge of the temple roof, pointing itty bitty fingers toward the woods.

Justice and Valley both squint, and stare, but

"All I see is trees and stuff?," Valley replies.

"It is rather difficult to see through the canopy," Justice confirms.

Lagrand, meanwhile, is nonchalantly examining the mandragora seed your party acquired a while back, seeming to ignore the conversation outright.

After some more tiny bickering between the fairies, the small group of them flies out further... and form a circle, highlighting a faintly visible clearing from the perspective of your allies.

"Oh!," Justice exclaims. "I see it now! Thank you so much!"

"Yeah, that's toootally reachable," Valley adds.

The fairies also provide their measurements, which Justice records in the journal.

"It should not take us long to find a tailor," says Justice.

"It may take some time to find one that will operate at that scale, however," Lagrand points out, still turning the seed around between his fingertips.

Justice's attention is caught by the overflowing fountain, its waters still pouring over the sides of the temple roof. "Is this the fountain that was mentioned in the journal...?"

"Yeah?," replies Valley. "It was like, making monsters and junk 'til these little ladies calmed down."

Justice approaches the fountain, lifting her gaze up to the collection of fairies. "Would you all mind if I purified these waters further...? I believe it would do the woods a deal of good."

"Sure!," says a fairy.

"I don't see why not," adds another.

"Yeah, do whatever!," and so on.

Justice begins to sing the Psalm of the Seaway Servant. Light coalesces, then flashes as she finishes... revealing once more a holy water elemental.

Justice gives a slight motion of her hand, and the elemental (somewhat awkwardly) climbs its tubby body into the fountain proper. Soon, all of the water flowing from it begins to show the same faint glimmer that the elemental sports.

Valley throws a smug smile back to Lagrand. Despite his attempts to seem distracted by the mandragora seed, he clearly notices the glance--and gives a hard toss of his hair. "It means little," he huffs, doing his best to sound like he's unaffected. "Even an alchemist can produce the so-called holy element. 'Tis a misnomer, nothing more."

Thank the faeries for their help, and then bid them adieu, as it is time to head to a clearing in the woods.

Thank the fairies, and ask them about the dark elf.
Does the water elemental need to stay in the spring for the spring to continue flowing holy water?
Bottle up some holy water if we can. It is also good for fighting undead.

But have Valley ask about the dark elf lady we met in Peace Calling before we leave. She was supposed to contact the fairies in her investigation.

Send the stone shield through to Inzo maybe?

Also, Bottle up some of that fountain water if possible, might be useful.

Ranses dad would be interested in that water as well. He's been nice to us so far, that lecher. Don't know if the entire party is ok with his ogling, maybe a confrontation will happen once.

Otoh, if Nast is seeking additional inspiration...

I don't think Valley minded that much. If anything, it seemed to amuse her.

And it was a useful lesson for all of us that a man in his forties can still appreciate the beauty of the female form.

I knew the elemental could help!
Now I'm curious to see if can grow when there's additional water provided or if just stays alive longer at the small size.

Lagrand does his best to not believe.

I agree with asking the fairies after Delmora.
When she was not here yet at least the fairies know she is coming.

We have our lead for the workshop so we thank the fairies for their help and go investigating further into the woods.

In his own way, Lagrand is just as firm in his beliefs as Justice. *shrug* So long as everyone is satisfied to discuss the matter as civilized adults, rather than bickering and sniping like schoolyard brats or going to war, it's not a problem.

On to the old stone spooky place then. Hope Little Blue can make it all that way; it was a good idea to have them purify the spring, but it'd be a shame to have to summon them again.

Oh, maybe if we can find some magic soil, LB could water the seed. Holy Magic Mandragora? Dunno, was hoping Lagrand would either get his own battle pet or learn some kind of sonic attack, but I guess we need to actually use the seed somehow.

I do like Guest's idea.

If it looks like Little Blue can't make it all that way, we might as well let him stay in the spring and chill until his summons ends and he can go back home.

I wasn't expecting anything particular from Lagrand checking out the seed, but the fact he's paid it some attention is already nice. Give it time, I'm sure that Lagrand will learn new spells/abilities eventually.

I'd prefer if we take Little Blue with us, however much time he has left. If we let him stay in the fountain, though, that brings up a different question: can Little Blue stay solid far away from Justice? If so, he could stand guard at the door sometime, or otherwise complete tasks for which our party has to leave.

We're being hit over the head with that Mandragora seed. I really want to see Lagrand do something with it. If he meditates on it, perhaps he'll learn a brand new ability. The Mandrogora Scream, or even a summon.

Just so long as he learns >something< from it. A summon would be preferable; something that can contribute to battle by dealing some serious damage.

Hey, let's not be greedy here. Not every new ability can be as powerful as Justice's water elemental (and even that's a small one).

I do want to see Lagrand figure out a way to use that Mandragora Seed though, even if he doesn't learn any new ability in the process, just to put it to use.

Counter for Lagrand's snub, there; alchemists bring out properties that already exist by processing items and substances, they don't create them out of nothing.

The fact that alchemists can produce devices and substances with the "holy" quality only means that holiness exists in the world, and can be seen as indicative that the power of the gods is inherent in creation -- or at least, interwoven with it in some places and/or objects / creatures.

That assume's that was is termed 'holy' is actually connected to something divine. It could simply be that some element of it is anathma to necromantic or demonic entities. Like alkaline to acid.

-Ask the fairies if they have a preference in textiles. Don't want to (for example) get them silk if they're looking for cotton or vice versa, that can make a big difference. Maybe it will even lead to a quest hook (ie, "our old panties were spidersilk, made by a beholder who lives north of here; good tailor but a little creepy during the fittings")

-Give Lagrand space to say if the mandragora seed inspired any ideas.

-+1 to bottling a bit of holy water. If the fairy/water connection goes both ways, the fairies may become more religious as time passes now. Is there some way we could leave a cell number or something so they can call Justice if they ever need to talk? Don't want to be pushy proselytizing, but if it comes from them, it would be good to give them guidance. I bet Justice would get a new spell from some traditional fairy prayer if that ever happened, too. I guess the best way to deal with this is to make sure Justice is in the party if we ever finish the panty quest and come by to drop them off and, *if* the fairies want to, use the shrinking potion for fairy tail.

I like the idea of swinging back around with Justice in case they *want* to talk but no need to push things.

Offer to let any of the fairies come with us if they want to (or reassert that the invitation is still open if we already asked them the last time we were here).

Thank the fairies for their help and ask them if there's anything else they need help with while we're here.

Go investigate the workshop and ask Lagrand if he's learned anything about the mandragora seed.
